नेपालका बरिष्ठ राजनीतिज्ञ, प्रजातान्त्रिक योद्धा तथा २०४६ को जनआन्दोलनका सर्वोच्च कमान्डर हुन् – गणेशमान सिंह । काठमाडौँको खानदानी परिवारमा वि.सं. १९७२ कात्तिक २४ गते जन्मिएका सिंहले १९९७ मा स्थापित राजनीतिक पार्टी प्रजा परिषद्को सदस्य भई राणा शासन हटाउने राजनीतिमा होमिएका थिए । भद्रगोल जेल फोरी भागेका जोशिला तन्नेरी गणेशमान प्रवास जानुअघि नै तत्कालीन ‘राणा हटाऊ’ आन्दोलनका एक नायक भैसकेका थिए ।
यिनै कमाण्डरको जीवनशैली कस्तो थियो होला त ? प्रस्तुत छ, वरिष्ठ फोटो पत्रकार विकास रौनियारले २०४८ देखि २०५४ सम्म कैद गरेका गणेशमानको तस्बिरका साथमा उनको लाइफस्टाइलबारे वरिष्ठ पत्रकार माथबरसिंह बस्नेतसँगको कुराकानी :
भारतमा जननायक वीपी कोइरालासँग राजनीतिक सम्बन्ध विकसित भएपछि अन्य केही सहयोगीसाथ २००३ सालमा स्थापित नेपाली कांग्रेसलाई आजीवन जुझारू नेतृत्व दिन गणेशमानको उल्लेखनीय भूमिका रह्यो । २००७ सालको क्रान्तिका एक अगुवाका रूपमा उनले वीरगञ्ज मोर्चामा सशस्त्र संघर्ष गरे । संर्घषका हिसाबले वीपीभन्दा बढी समयसम्म देशमा प्रजातन्त्र बहाली र पुर्नबहाली लागि समर्पित गणेशमान सैद्धान्तिक हिसाबले वीपीका अनुयायी र सबैभन्दा ठूला समर्थकका रूपमा नेपाली कांग्रेसलाई लोकप्रिय बनाउन सदा क्रियाशिल रहे ।
पहिलो जननिर्वाचित सरकारमा वरिष्ठ मन्त्री रहेका उनले २०१७ सालमा प्रजातन्त्र अपहरण भएपछि ८ वर्ष निरन्तर कारावास भोगे । त्यसपछि पुनः प्रवासमा राजनीतिक सङ्गठन विस्तार गरी २०३३ सालमा बीपीसँगै राष्ट्रिय मेलमिलापको नारा लिई स्वदेश फर्केर तत्कालीन पञ्चायती व्यवस्थाका विरूद्ध सक्रिय रहे । तत्कालीन पञ्चहरूबाट वीपीसँगै मृत्युदण्डको माग गरिएका गणेशमानले २०३६ सालको विद्यार्थी आन्दोलन र जनमत संग्रहमा उत्तिकै नेतृत्वदायी भूमिका निर्वाह गरेका थिए । वीपीको निधनपछि कांग्रेसका सर्वोच्च नेताका रूपमा गणेशमानले २०४२ सालको सत्याग्रह आन्दोलन आरम्भ गरे ।
राणा विरोधी आन्दोलनमा होमिनुभएका गणेशमान सिंह वि.सं १९९७ सालमा जेल पर्नुभयो । परिवारका सदस्यले जेलमै खाना, सिरक, डस्ना लगिदिनुभयो । तर, सरकारले जे दिन्छ त्यसैबाट गुजारा गर्छु भनेर त्यो फर्काइदिनुभयो ।
१९९७ सालदेखि अनवरत राजनीतिमा समर्पित कडा स्वभाव र जुझारू व्यक्तित्वका सर्वप्रिय नेता गणेशमानको अर्को महत्वपूर्ण योगदान २०४६ सालमा रह्यो । राष्ट्रिय जनआन्दोलनका लागि कम्युनिष्टहरूसँग मिलेर पञ्चायतविरूद्ध आन्दोलनको घोषणा गर्ने गणेशमान उक्त आन्दोलनका सर्वोच्च कमाण्डर थिए । यिनै कमाण्डरको जीवनशैली कस्तो थियो होला त ? प्रस्तुत छ, वरिष्ठ फोटो पत्रकार विकास रौनियारले २०४८ देखि २०५४ सम्म कैद गरेका गणेशमानको तस्बिरका साथमा उनको लाइफस्टाइलबारे वरिष्ठ पत्रकार माथबरसिंह बस्नेतसँगको कुराकानी :
साधारण जीवनशैली
राणा विरोधी आन्दोलनमा होमिनुभएका गणेशमान सिंह वि.सं १९९७ सालमा जेल पर्नुभयो । परिवारका सदस्यले जेलमै खाना, सिरक, डस्ना लगिदिनुभयो । तर, सरकारले जे दिन्छ त्यसैबाट गुजारा गर्छु भनेर त्यो फर्काइदिनुभयो । त्यतिबेला सरकारले एकदिनका लागि डेढ माना चामल र २ मुठा दाउरा दिन्थ्यो । त्यसले उहाँलाई पुग्दैनथ्यो । अनि माटोको हाँडीमा २ माना पीठोको खोले बनाएर पिउनुहुन्थ्यो ।
जीवनभरमा कहिल्यै लोभ गर्नुभएन । वास्तवमा उहाँको राणाबाट पुरस्कृत परिवार हो । कुनै कुराको कमी थिएन । त्यसैले मान, प्रतिष्ठा र पैसाका लागि वैकल्पिक राजनीति खोज्नै पर्दैनथ्यो ।
जुन कुरा वीपीले आफ्नो आत्मवृत्तान्तमा लेख्नुभएको छ । जेलमा रहँदा उहाँले एउटा सुकुल र च्यादरको भरमा रात बिताउनुभयो । औषत नेपालीले यसरी नै दिनचर्या बिताइरहेका छन् भने मैले बिताउँदा के हुन्छ ! भन्ने उहाँको सोच थियो । त्यही सोंच र जनताप्रति समर्पित भएकाले नैै उहाँलाई महान नेता बनायो ।
लोभ नगर्ने
जीवनभरमा कहिल्यै लोभ गर्नुभएन । वास्तवमा उहाँको राणाबाट पुरस्कृत परिवार हो । कुनै कुराको कमी थिएन । त्यसैले मान, प्रतिष्ठा र पैसाका लागि वैकल्पिक राजनीति खोज्नै पर्दैनथ्यो । तैपनि, नेपालमा राणा शासनको अन्त्य र प्रजातन्त्र नल्याइ जनताको कल्याण हुँदैन भन्ने बोध गरेर परिवार छोडेर राजनीतिमा होमिनुभयो । नेपाली राजनीतिक इतिहासमा प्रजा परिषद्को विद्रोह नै पहिलो विद्रोह मानिन्छ । त्यसैले वि.सं १९९७ को विद्रोहदेखि २०५४ सम्म अथक रुपमा प्रजातन्त्रको रुपमा लड्ने पहिलो र एकमात्र नेता हो । यो बेलासम्म उहाँले व्यक्तिगत लाभका निम्ति कहिल्यै लोभ गर्नुभएन ।
क्रान्तिकारी नेताको छाप
राणाकालिन जेलको पर्खाल र सिपाहीको बन्दुकको प्रवाह नगरी जेलबाट भाग्नुभयो । त्यसैले उहाँ क्रान्तिकारी नेता हो । एउटा क्रान्तिकारी नेतालाई जतिसुकै कठोर शासक, जेलको अग्ला पर्खाल र आधुनिक हतियार केहीले पनि छेक्न सक्दैन भन्ने उदाहरण पनि बन्नुभयो ।
जेलमा हुँदा होस् या घरमा उहाँ ५ बजेभित्र उठिसक्नुहुन्थ्यो । त्यसपछि चिया पकाएर परिवारका सबैलाई खुवाउनुहुन्थ्यो । केही समय मर्निङ वाक जानुहुन्थ्यो । पछि उहाँलाई पेट सफा नहुने रोग अर्थात् कब्जियत भयो । अनि बिहान ६ बजे बाथरुम छिरेपछि १ बजेमात्र निस्कनुहुन्थ्यो ।
जेलमा पनि सेवाभाव
गणेशमान एकदमै सेवाभाव भएको व्यक्ति हो । उहाँले जेलभित्रै रहँदा धेरैको सेवा गर्नुभयो । जेलमा रहेका बलबहादुर पाँडेको मानसिकस्थिति बिग्रियो । उनले दिसा पिसाब आएको पनि थाहा पाउँदैन थिए । तर, बलबहादुरको दिसा पिसाब गणेशमानले नै सफा गर्दिनुहुन्थ्यो । जेलमा बसेर दुःख पाएका थुप्रैको सेवा गर्नुभयो ।
५ बजेभित्र उठिसक्ने
जेलमा हुँदा होस् या घरमा उहाँ ५ बजेभित्र उठिसक्नुहुन्थ्यो । त्यसपछि चिया पकाएर परिवारका सबैलाई खुवाउनुहुन्थ्यो । केही समय मर्निङ वाक जानुहुन्थ्यो । पछि उहाँलाई पेट सफा नहुने रोग अर्थात् कब्जियत भयो । अनि बिहान ६ बजे बाथरुम छिरेपछि १ बजेमात्र निस्कनुहुन्थ्यो । तर, उपत्यकाबाहिर भ्रमणमा जाँदा भने १ घन्टामै शौच क्रिया सक्नुहुन्थ्यो ।
१ बजेपछि कार्यकर्ता भेटघाट
१ बजेपछि उहाँको भेटघाट सुरु हुन्थ्यो । जो भेट्न आएपनि भेट दिने उहाँको बानी थियो । कोही अप्ठेरोमा परेर माग्न आएको छ भने दिनैपर्ने उहाँको बानी थियो । आफूसँग छैन भने अरुसँग मागेर भएपनि दिनुहुन्थ्यो । माग्न आएको मान्छे कस्तो प्रकृति हो, साँच्चै आवश्यक परेको हो कि होइन भनेर कसैसँग सोध्ने बानी थिएन । राजनीतिक कामले कतै भ्रमणमा निस्कँदा आफूसँग रहेका कार्यकर्ताहरुलाई खाना खुवाएर मात्र आफूले खाने बानी थियो ।
कोमल हृदय तर, विरोधीसामु कठोर
गणेशमान कोमल हृदयको हुनुहुन्थ्यो । तर, विरोधीसँग अत्यन्तै कठोर देखिनुहुन्थ्यो । यतिसम्मकि राजा महेन्द्रसमेत उहाँदेखि डराउँथे । महेन्द्रले अरु जो नेता दरबारमा आएपनि केही समय कुराउँथे तर, गणेशमानलाई कहिल्यै कुराएनन् । भेटिहाल्थे । बेग्लै सम्मान गर्थे । यो सबै गणेशमानको त्याग, बलिदानका कारणले हो । यदि राजाले कुराए भने त्यो कुरा भाषणमा भन्दिहाल्थे । यद्यपि, भाषणमा सधैं जनताको भाषा बोल्ने भएकाले उहाँको लोकप्रियता चुँलिँदै गयो ।
खानामा यही चाहिन्छ भन्ने थिएन
सम्पन्न परिवारमा जन्मे हुर्केको भएपनि उहाँ साधारण खानपान रुचाउनुहुन्थ्यो । खानामा यही चाहिन्छ भन्ने बानी थिएन । गाउँघरमा जाँदा कसैले भुटेको मकै दिए भने पनि मजाले खानुहुन्थ्यो । तर, मौसमअनुसारको फलफूल उहाँलाई एकदमै मनपथ्र्यो ।
पहिरनमा निकै सौखिन हुनुहुन्थ्यो । दौरा सुरुवाल कोट निकै रुचाउनुहुन्थ्यो । कपडा मिलाएर लगाउनुहुन्थ्यो तर, लथालिंग पाराले बस्नुहुन्थ्यो । उहाँमा सबै कुराको सौख थियो तर, मनमा जनता भन्ने तत्वले कहिल्यै छोडेन ।
रक्सीको पारखी
गणेशमान रक्सीको निकै पारखी हुनुहुन्थ्यो । राजनीति सुरु गर्नुभन्दा पहिला उहाँले रक्सी नचाखेका कमै भट्टी होलान् । पछि पनि रक्सी मजाले पिउनुहुन्थ्यो । चीनको प्रधानमन्त्री जाहो इनलाई नेपाल भ्रमणमा आउँदा उहाँसँग गणेशमानको रक्सी खाने प्रतिस्पर्धा नै चलेको थियो रे । तर, जीवनको उत्तराद्र्धमा उहाँले २ पेगमात्र लिनुहुन्थ्यो ।
पहिरनमा सौखिन
पहिरनमा निकै सौखिन हुनुहुन्थ्यो । दौरा सुरुवाल कोट निकै रुचाउनुहुन्थ्यो । कपडा मिलाएर लगाउनुहुन्थ्यो तर, लथालिंग पाराले बस्नुहुन्थ्यो । उहाँमा सबै कुराको सौख थियो तर, मनमा जनता भन्ने तत्वले कहिल्यै छोडेन ।
नामी तबलावादक
कलकत्ता बसेको हुनाले चलचित्र हेर्न खुबै रुचाउनुहुन्थ्यो । साथै, गीतसंगीतमा पनि रुचि थियो । साहित्यकार, कलाकार भनेपछि असाध्यै माया गर्नुहुन्थ्यो । नामी तबलाबादक हुनुुहुन्थ्यो । त्यतिबेला टोल–टोलमा भजन किर्तन हुन्थ्यो । त्यहाँ गएर तबला बजाउनुहुन्थ्यो । जेलमा रहँदा कवि सम्मेलन हुन्थ्यो । त्यतिबेला कोठा बडार्ने र सुकुल ओछ्याउने काम गणेशमानले नै गर्नुहुँदो रहेछ । त्यो देखेर अरुलाई लाज लागेर किन यसो गर्नुभएको हामी गरिहाल्छौं नि भन्थे । तर, गणेशमानले तिमीहरु कवि म त कवि होइन । तिमीहरुले कविता भनेर हामीलाई मनोरञ्जन दिन्छौ मैले यति गर्दा के भयो त भन्नुहुन्थ्यो रे । यिनै, सरल स्वभावका कारण नै गणेशमान सफल नेताका रुपमा कहलाउनुभयो ।
