आँखा अस्पतालबाट बचेको समय ड्रागन फ्रुट खेतीमा
रुपन्देहीको तिलोत्तमा नगरपालिका–८ का प्रतीक पाण्डे ड्रागन फल (फ्रुट) को खेतीमा रमाइरहेका छन् । भैरहवास्थित लुम्बिनी रण अम्बिका शाह आँखा अस्पतालमा सूचना अधिकारीको रूपमा कार्यरत पाण्डे कार्यालय अघि–पछि र बिदाको दिन ड्रागत खेतीमै व्यस्त हुन्छन् । उनले अतिरिक्त आम्दानीको स्रोत ड्रागन खेतीलाई बनाएका छन् ।
पाण्डेले एक कठ्ठा जग्गामा ड्रागन खेती गरिरहेका छन् । तीन वर्षदेखि उक्त फलको खेती गर्दै आएका हुन् । एक सयवटा बोट लगाएका पाण्डेले एउटा बोटमा ३० वटासम्म फल फलाएका छन् ।
वैशाखदेखि मंसिरसम्म फल्ने क्रम चलिरहन्छ, फल फलेको ३० दिनमा खानलायक हुन्छ ।
घरमा भएको ड्रागन फलको खेतीबाट उत्पादित ड्रागन स्थानीय बजारमा प्रतिकिलो पाँच सय रुपैयाँमा बिक्री हुने गरेको र बिक्रीका लागि कुनै समस्या नभएको उनले बताए । बजारमा यसको अत्यधिक माग छ । ड्रागन फलको बिरुवासमेत बनाएर रोप्न चाहने अरूलाई बिक्री गर्ने गरेको उनले बताए । स्थानीय नर्सरीमा ड्रागन फलको बिरुवा प्रतिगोटा दुई सयदेखि दुई सय ५० रुपैयाँसम्म पर्छ । ड्रागन फलको खेती गरेपछि खाली जमिनको समेत सदुपयोग भएको उनको भनाइ छ ।
यो फल वैशाखदेखि फल्न सुरु हुने उनले बताए । ‘वैशाखदेखि मंसिरसम्म फल्ने क्रम चलिरहन्छ, फल फलेको ३० दिनमा खानलायक हुन्छ,’ उनले भने । होटलमा आउने ग्राहकले यो फल अझ बढी रुचाएको आफूले जानकारी पाएको पाण्डेको भनाइ छ ।
लुम्बिनी रण अम्बिका शाह आँखा अस्पतालमा कार्यरत डा. सल्मा केसीले तीन वर्षअघि ड्रागन फल ल्याउनुभएको थियो, फल खाएपछि मन पर्यो, उहाँसगै एउटा विरुवा ल्याएर रोपे, त्यसपछि ड्रागन फलको खेतीप्रति रुचि बढ्दै गयो ।
‘लुम्बिनी रण अम्बिका शाह आँखा अस्पतालमा कार्यरत डा. सल्मा केसीले तीन वर्षअघि ड्रागन फल ल्याउनुभएको थियो, फल खाएपछि मन पर्यो, उहाँसगै एउटा विरुवा ल्याएर रोपे, त्यसपछि ड्रागन फलको खेतीप्रति रुचि बढ्दै गयो ।’
ड्रागन फलको गुण भनेको एकपटक स्वाद लिइसकेपछि पटकपटक खान मन पराउने किसिमको भएको उनले बताए । खानलाई सजिलो हुने भएकाले यसको खेती, बजार सम्भावना राम्रो देखिएको पाण्डेको भनाइ छ ।
